After years of applying, We've finally been accepted to participate in the 2019 Shitbox Rally! Not only is this is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and now in its 10th year, but it's the longest trip yet 10 days, and over 5100k's!. Part of the adventure is that we need to raise a minimum of $5,000 to get across the start line... Of course we plan to far exceed that! With a goal of $2,000,000 for this years event the other 249 teams will be pushing hard to meet the challenge as well. Funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. As those who know us are very aware, we have good reason to be passionate about the cause with Lou being a cancer survivor herself! The fundraising is definitely going to be the hard part, so any donation you are able to offer will be greatly appreciated. Please be sure to follow our progress via this page, our blog posts, and all the socials. We plan on taking you all along with us on this adventure using every bit of technical wizardry we can... If I have my way, you'll be able to pinpoint us on the map day or night! , as well as see regular live updates along the way! Let the adventure begin!
Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, this year for the 10th year anniversary rally, over a 10 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.
We are pleased to announce we have secured our "shitbox". Meet Pearl, she will be arriving in Brisvagus very soon. Pearl comes to us from humble beginings and a colourful past. Im sure you will all agree when you meet her, she does have a bright future.
We'll keep you updated on her progress.
