Our Story …

Hi! We are Chris and Jae and we have been mates for over 25 years. We met playing baseball as kids and unsurprisingly, neither of us are smart enough to do Cancer Research. But we can drive a car pretty good! Together we are going to raise $10,000 for the Cancer Council so that the smart people who can do research, have funding to find a cure for this shitty disease...

If only beating cancer was as easy as blowing the bubbles off your beer (we are pretty good at that too..) But it aint, and this fundraiser isn't your ordinary 5k fun run.. It's a seemingly impossible journey - driving from Perth to Sydney, through the bush, via Uluru. The Shitbox Rally is a challenge to achieve the unthinkable: drive a car worth less than $1,000 across Australia via some of its most arduous roads, all in the name of charity. Did we also mention that it can't be a 4WD?

Don't believe us? Watch the Video from last year >>>>>>>>>

In May 2019, we will drive the 5,200 kms across Australia in 10 days, and we need to raise $10,000 before they will let us start... We are buying the car, fitting it out, shipping it to Perth, and flying ourselves there... so all your donations go directly to the Cancer Council, not us :) They are fully tax deductible and receipts will be issued to you directly by this site.

We are asking for anyone that is able and willing to donate to our team “Blowing Bubbles” in honour and memory of someone that cancer has taken from you, someone who is currently fighting it, or just because you're a good egg and this is a worthy cause.

So, 10 days, 5,200kms, $10,000 to raise, $1,000 car and 2 blokes who need their heads checked for one mighty good cause!

We are looking for 100 donations of $100, 200 donations of $50 (or just one $10,000 deposit would be sweet!).

For the cost of a round of drinks, you can fund the researchers to find the cure, and help people battling cancer to beat it for good. Now that's something we can all cheers to!

lotsa love

Jae and Chris aka Team Blowing Bubbles

Here's what I'm doing …

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, this year for the 10th year anniversary rally, over a 10 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.

The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.

Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.

The Impact, Outcomes & Charity

Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.

Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.

Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.

Almost $15 million has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:

  • A research study to develop a vaccine that protects against lymphoma cancers.
  • A research trial to standardise international guidelines on melanoma removal.
  • A research grant to revolutionise the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
