Having first heard about Shitbox Rally after Mum (Nana) died and years of applying, we’ve finally made the cut, along with another 249 lucky teams. It has been worth the wait and three practice runs in Mystery Box Rally, to be finally accepted in the extra special, extra long, 10th Anniversay Rally.
Not only is Shitbox Rally the largest community fundraiser for Cancer Council, the rally this year is also the longest, trekking over 5,150km in 10 days from the west coast of Australia to the east.
But as you know, the adventure is not just about the rally. It’s also the months of fundraising leading up to May 2019.
We need to raise a minimum of $5,000 to get to the start line, but we have doubled our annual goal to $10,000. Collectively, teams are hoping to reach $2million for the first time ever.
WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, this year for the 10th year anniversary rally, over a 10 day across Australia endeavour to raise money for cancer research.
The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.
Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.

Big shout out of thanks to the Team at MGM Smashrepairs in Bega who donated both materials and labour. What a seriously fabulous team!
Now to add some sponsor and rally stickers and see if our 30 year old $500 car can make it across Australia...
A big shout out of thanks to friends and family who have helped us reach our fundraising goal for Cancer Council.
We’ve still got two weeks to go, so we’re not stopping yet!
